Challenge—animate using only geometric shapes to an audio clip of your choice.
Music: ‘The Piano Duet’ from The Corpse Bride by Danny Elfman
This assignment was ridiculously frustrating and completely awesome in the end. I put this together using After Effects (an Adobe product I have never touched before) and after fighting with it and cursing at its lavender icon for hours on end, I reached a comfortable vibe with AE. We aren’t exactly friends but we aren’t enemies anymore either. ;-)
Thought I would share! Hope it’s entertaining—thanks for looking! :D
Q:So is Wisp like a Video game? Or a book?
Wisp is an OC of mine I created last year in a 2d animation course. I’ll post more of her soon! :-)
(I wish she was in a video game, book, and or movie! xD Maybe one day lol)
Q:Hello! Wow your art is so amazingly spectacular! I'm a new high school graduate and visual design hopeful...:) Do you have any suggestions about drawing things that are difficult for you? ALSO! Where did you learn to do such fabulous lighting? Thank you!!! :)
Thank you very much! <3 My favorite concept pieces, paintings, and photographs in general utilize light in their work almost magically—they are spectrum eye candy to the max! I wanted that sort of lighting in my own work, and through trial and error, and LOTS of reference + practice I am learning the ways of the lighting muses.
AHH Congrats graduate! So exciting!! Vis Design = Awwwwesome. Such a lucrative field! There are so many areas you can branch out into. :D
As for your drawing difficult things, the only suggestion that I can offer is to simply do it! It’s not much, but it’s the honest truth. The only way to improve, especially on things you find challenging is to go at and fail, fail hard, fail big! And don’t be bummed about it because even if your first attempt is rough around the edges, it’s practice, you’re learning, and now you have the starting point to improve and become a super amazing visual design legend!
Q:What art tools do you use your art is so gorgeous, I've seen many artists use tablets connected to their computer ( if that's the way lol ) but there are so many brands what do you use? YOUR ART IS THE BOMB DIGGITY BY THE WAY ^^
Yep, I have a 7 year old wacom bamboo fun tablet. I really need to upgrade to a new one though, my poor tablet is being held together by duck tape!!! xD I’ll probably get an intuos pro for my next tablet. I’ve heard good things about it and my roommate loves his.
As for digital tools.. I use Kyle Webster’s photoshop brushes! Find them HERE!
They are, seriously, the best brushes you will ever find. I only have the dry media and runny inkers set, but I plan on purchasing the mega brush pack this weekend! Awesome times ahead! :D
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Have a great Tuesday!!!
